Doggie-paddling

I cannot swim. I took swimming lessons for many years during my childhood but I never made a real effort and, thus, can only keep myself afloat through doggie-paddling.

I have been putting in a lot of time and energy into school and I'm barely managing to keep my head above water. I cannot, for the life of me, get caught up or even ahead with my work. I'm beyond exhausted and feeling completely overwhelmed. I do not know how I'm going to survive the rest of the school year. All my hard work is not paying off - I'm still unable to swim. I'm still just flapping my arms and legs around, hoping I don't sink.

Doggie-paddling sucks. I cannot wait for the long weekend.

I hope you have a nice RELAXING weekend. The school year will get easier. It's always hard to find your bearings the first couple weeks back. :)

Somehow, I think it's in the air. Dumb NCLB! If it makes you feel any better, every great teacher I know is in the same place right now. Even all the way in Georgia.

I understand completely what you are going through. As frustrating as this can be, sometimes I just have to tell myself that no matter what I do, I will NEVER be caught up and, sometimes I just have to go home and relax.

I hope you enjoyed your nice long weekend. It was a hot one!
