Fourth Place

It's official.

I completely suck at Hearts. I came in dead last in both games. So much for my wish on Friday of winning a game tonight.

What game(s) do you enjoy but stink at?

1. Fruit salad - the best food to take on a picnic.

2. Summer is on its way.

3. My feet adore flip flops.

4. To love someone is nothing, to be loved by someone is something, but to be loved by the one you love is everything.

5. I’m not in good enough shape for a long hike.

6. When I crave food, it's usually something unhealthy.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to discussing books with a co-worker, tomorrow my plans include dinner and a movie with the hubby and Sunday, I want to win a game of Hearts at the in-laws!

Snapshot Saturday: Doors

When one door closes another door opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.

Friday Finds

Last night while I couldn't sleep, I decided I'd jump on the Etsy bandwagon and see what was out there. I've been there a time or two but never done any real searching. Well, not only did I do some serious searching last night, I did some purchasing as well! I found these four items for my kitchen/dining room.

These first three are labels from fruit crates from the 1930s-1940s

and this fruit print is on a vintage 1933 Citrus Market newspaper.

Yay for Etsy! I think I might be hooked!

A Brief Break

Mr. Backpack and I now have a brief break before we officially have to make a trip together again.

Today, both of my Spring 2010 courses officially ended. On Sunday night I took the final test for my online business course and this afternoon I took the final test for my on-campus accounting course. I'm thrilled to be done with the business class (it was A BIT dull), but I have mixed feelings about having finished my first accounting course. I'm excited to now have some basic knowledge of accounting and look forward to the many more number-crunching courses I have ahead of me, but I will miss the instructor I had this semester. She was a WONDERFUL teacher and there wasn't a class of hers that I didn't enjoy sitting through. I wish she could teach all of my courses. Ever had an instructor like that?

I now have 20 days of freedom ahead of me until summer school begins. Mr. Backpack doesn't get to go anywhere, though, because both courses I'm taking are online; he gets a nice long break until August when fall classes start. He better enjoy it because I have a feeling we'll be quite busy then . . .

A Girl Can Dream

This house is currently for sale. If I had an extra $200,000 laying around, I'd be all over this beauty. I may have to schedule a showing with the realtor just so I can look at it in person.
