Greatest Place Around

Every time I visit the library, I get a little giddy. I want to run up and down the aisles and scream "isn't this the greatest place around?" The excitement of having so many books in one area is enough to make me a little crazy. It amazes me to think of all the words that are in one building and I, for no charge, can read any of them.

I remained in control during my visit to the library yesterday, but that is only because my mode of transportation was a bike and my backpack could only hold so much. I got three books, two on my list to read ("The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini and "Nickel and Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich) and one 'just because' book ("Oh My Stars" by Lorna Landvik). Now all I have to do is figure out which book to start first!

What are you reading?

I LOVE going to the library! One of my favorite places of all time!!
Sadly, I am not reading anything at the moment....I hope to delve into a good book soon though

I love the Kite Runner. You'll have to let me know if you like the other two books. I am always looking for new stuff to read.

I just finished At Home in Mitford. It was incredibly slow moving and I don't think I recommend it. :)

This cracked me up. I can just see you running around a quiet library. :)

Right now I just started reading The Assassin's Song by M.G. Vassanji. I feel like I don't really know what they are talking about, but hope it will get better and spark my interest. It's pretty easy reading except for the foreign vocabulary.

I read the Kite Runner and LOVED it. Then I saw the movie about a year later and was pleased. That doesn't happen that often! I read A Thousand Splendid Suns by the same author and loved it as well.. you will have to check that one out too!
