There was a tradition in our school that every 6th grade class would have Where the Red Fern Grows read to them by Mrs. Meyer. You would always know when the 6th graders got to the end because we would see them in music class and their eyes would be all red and puffy from crying.
I don't actually remember crying myself though - which is odd, because I get teary eyed easily!

We must be close in age, because a lot of my faves are on this list! My top two are Judy Blume and Little House on the Prairie! Love this list :)
Loved Box Car Children and Ramona. Roald Dahl is one of my all time faves. Oh oh and I read "Little House in the Big Woods" about a million times.
I used to hide under the porch with my mothers' Harlequin romances lol She hid them from my father. Very strict upbringing so reading was kind of taboo unless it was the bible.

We share a love of reading. Many I read as a child;my kid read many of these and/or I read them to her.
summer of the monkeys was definitely my favorite book growing up! I completely forgot about it until right now
