Life Full of Laughter

Whenever I hear this line of Daughtry's "Life After You," I think of my husband:

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter,

Without you God knows what I'd do

We laugh a lot and it's probably my favorite thing about our relationship.  I honestly don't think I could find someone with whom I would laugh more.  I'm so very lucky for that.

Despite all the laughing, it's hard to find a picture of us doing that together!  This gem is from our engagement photo session in 2007.  We were told to be serious for the picture right before this one and then we burst out laughing because we both look ridiculous when we try to take straight-faced photos.  I'm so glad this moment was caught by the camera.

Thank you, dear husband, for this life full of laughter.

Summer 2012

Happy first day of SUMMER!

Christmas Countdown

Tomorrow is the first day of summer but I can't stop thinking about Christmas!

It doesn't help that every time I go downstairs into my scrapbooking room I see reminders of my favorite holiday - wrapping paper and decorations that can't be hidden out of sight or new objects that I haven't yet put away into the red and green tubs.

Only five months and four days until I can unleash this Christmas beast!

Desk Distractions

I'm in the midst of finals week.  Of course this means that I have a lot of studying that needs to be done but it also means that my attention span is almost nonexistent.  My brain is ready to be DONE!  As I sit here at the desk, I'm distracted by every little thing.

I look at the photo of Mitch and me in Hawaii and think about how much fun it is to travel with my husband.  I don't know when our next trip will be or where we will be headed but I do know that wonderful memories will be made.

I look at my bookshelf and think about the characters and the stories that lay inside each and every one of my novels.  I cannot wait to have more time to read for fun.

And of course there is always the window.  The window that puts on beautiful cloud shows and throws rays of comforting sun into this room.

So while finals week is stressful, I have very happy distractions here at my desk.  You can't ask for anything better than that.
